This work began with an exploration of the sounds produced by the oral and voice. Rather than focusing on common musical vocal techniques, it concentrated on the sounds made in everyday life with the vocal tract, including exaggerated or artificially created expressions. For example, sounds when surprised (gasp, scream, shouting), coughing, groaning when in pain, licking one’s lips, kissing, and various other mouth-produced sounds (click with lips, tongue clicks, teeth chattering) are included. These sounds were used in different variations, such as intonation, accent, rhythm, and gender.
